The city of Allentown announced today (October 28, 2009) at a press conference at City Hall, that the city has been awarded a Federal Grant for several "Green" projects. Included in this grant is money for 48 new bicycle racks that will be distributed around the area. In addition, there is money budgeted for Shared Lane Markings for key bike routes through the area. BikeAllentown will be will be working closely with the city to determine where the bike racks will be placed, as well as where the shared lane markings should be placed.
